About The Flowers Day Nursery Pre School Childcare

Our Schoolroom Pre School Childcare helps to prepare your child for starting school and we gently ease them into a structured school routine so it’s not a shock for them when they first start.

We follow the early year’s curriculum and our qualified teachers deliver it in a fun and interactive way to our children who are aged between 3-4 years, offering both English and Welsh provision.

The EYFS aims to provide quality and consistency in all early years settings leading towards a secure foundation that allows:

  • all children to progress through school and life

  • partnerships between different practitioners

  • partnerships between parents and practitioners

  • equality of opportunity for all children

Our curriculum within our schoolroom follows the Foundation Phase very closely and each learning module and project lasts around 3 months to ensure the children’s learning is properly embedded. Their day is more structured when they move into our preschool and this helps to prepare them for starting their reception year at school.

Our learning modules are planned by our fully qualified teacher who is supported by teaching assistants throughout the day. Our projects incorporate activities to enhance the children’s learning such as; stories, music, arts and crafts, water and sand play, dressing up and cookery.

Our schoolroom is brightly decorated with the children’s work displayed. We still have different designated areas within the schoolroom with a reading corner to encourage their love of reading and books, a science room, a play area and a designated arts and crafts room.

All of our age groups within the Flowers focus on the key stages of children’s development through play and exploring:

  • Communication and language

  • Physical development

  • Personal, social and emotional development

  • Literacy

  • Mathematics

  • Understanding the world

  • Expressive arts and design
