The Flowers boasts an exceptional team of fully qualified and experienced childcare professionals. We believe in teaching social skills and values, compassion and understanding and an appreciation of the world in which we live in. Understanding different cultures that makeup society and learning through play are two core beliefs of The Flowers.

 

Qualified teaching staff deliver the Early Learning Years curriculum to children aged 3-4 years helping to ease them gently into school life. These early years pass by quickly but we work closely with all of our parents feeding back daily developmental goals and achievements and share a daily log.

 

We focus on a very high standard of care for young babies and fully appreciate how difficult for new mums the initial induction can be. Our experienced baby floor team have some of the most valuable experience and qualifications in South Wales and have been noted for our baby floor in the NDNA reports. The home from home calming environment will make you feel safe and secure that your baby will be loved and emotionally secure at The Flowers.

 

Our Team works closely with parents to ensure that every day your child spends with us is full of fun and wonderful experiences. With the following facilities all located inside our beautiful four-storey Grade II listed building:

General Manager

Sara has been working in the Child Care sector for 17 years and has been a valued member of staff at The Flowers for over 14 years. Since she joined us as a Nursery Nurse in 2005, she has advanced to the position of General Manager and, uniquely, has practical experience of every role in between. In keeping with The Flowers’ standards of excellence, Sara has obtained qualifications in Levels 2 & 3 Child Care and is currently working towards her Level 5 in Child Care Management. She is also qualified in Safeguarding Level 3, First Aid, First Aid at Work, Food & Hygiene, Allergy Training, Fire Marshall and Safety (Level 2), Health & Safety (Level 2), Prevent Duty, Children's Rights and Special Needs.

 

Sara continues to be passionate about working with children, and her caring nature means that her number 1 priority is ensuring the happiness and well-being of all the children in our care.

Lynda has been working in the childcare sector for 14 years and has been working at The Flowers for over 9 years. Lynda joined us as a Nursery Nurse in 2010 and has progressed to her current role of Key Worker for the 2-3-year old group - The Daisies. Lynda is also the Assistant General Manager of the Nursery – deputising as GM in Sara’s absence. In accordance with The Flowers’ emphasis on standards, Lynda has obtained qualifications in Levels 2 & 3 Child Care and is currently working towards ECDL (European Computer Driving Licence) in her spare time. Additionally, she has qualifications in Safeguarding (Level 3), First Aid, First Aid at Work, Food & Hygiene, Allergy Training, Fire Marshall and Safety (Level 2), Prevent Duty, Children's Rights and Special Needs.

 

Lynda is personally very focussed on meeting children’s needs and developing their experiences. She is very creative and takes pride in making bright and colourful displays with the children.

The management team all hold Food Safety, Child Protection, Paediatric First Aid, Emergency First Aid at Work and HACCP certificates.

 

Sara Blair has also trained as a Fire Marshall and Sara Roberts and Leanne have participated in Foundation Phase Training courses.

Located in a beautiful four-storey Grade II Listed building, which was totally refurbished and decorated to a high standard, we have created a very welcoming environment where your child will play, learn and feel loved. As you would want and expect, the building meets all Environmental Health, Building & Fire Regulations. Off-road parking makes dropping off and picking up easier at the nursery right in the centre of Swansea.

 

The Flowers has a dedicated baby room, two playrooms, a schoolroom, two creative/dining rooms, our own kitchen (with a 5 Star Environmental Health Award) and a very impressive outdoor area fully equipped with playhouses, slides and climbing frames. There is also have a hard outdoor area - perfect for trikes, bikes and water and sandpit play.

Our teaching staff deliver the Early Years curriculum to children aged 3-4 years with the main aim of easing them gently into a structured school routine. Working closely with parents, our team ensures that your child's time at The Flowers is full of fun and wonderful experiences to help build solid foundations for the future.

 

The EYFS aims to provide quality and consistency in all early years settings leading towards a secure foundation that allows:
